This weekend we went to Scotland! It was an amazing whirlwind of a weekend, and Scotland was unlike any place I've been before. We hired a car (yes, we had to drive on the wrong side of the road!), and drove about 500 miles to see the highlights of Scotland. All in all, Scotland was fabulous.
This is the B&B we stayed at the first night, after an adventurous two hour night drive from Glasgow to Glencoe.
We visited the Eilean Donan castle on the Isle of Skye. It's one of the most photographed landmarks in Scotland. For more information about its history, go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eilean_Donan
We made many roadside stops to get out an enjoy the spectacular views.
I'm pretty sure that these were escape artist sheep, since they were just running around an unfenced riverbank by themselves.
We also encountered a group of what we thought were yaks, but were actually Highland Cows.
Aw, best friends!
The hostel we stayed in on the Isle of Skye. Also, this is morning light, not twilight. We got up REALLY early to start our drive down to Stirling Castle.
...I honestly cannot think of anything to say.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing that whole eyes-blinking-in-wonderment thing.
*So* gorgeously open and colorful and cold-looking... <3
